Rhinoceros

Rhinoceros is my 6th large sculpture, and my 5th Honorarium Project For Burning Man, featured at Burning Man 2024. It has 6 movable features. The eyelids can be opened and closed, and the eyes themselves can be aimed by hand. The ears are similarly poseable. Squeezing a handle on the underside of the jaw allows the mouth to be opened or closed. Turning the shoulder cranks will slowly raise or lower the head and neck. The tail is a chain that can be swung or otherwise played with. Rhinoceros was made possible in part by a grant from Burning Man Arts. It is currently available for sale or lease.
